Disability Support Advisory Committee - Community Forum
Client:
Capital and Coast District Health Board (C&C DHB)
Project Background:
C&C DHB developed Promoting Participation - Kotahi Tātou as a document to guide the delivery, management and governance of health and disability services, and ensure services align with the principles of the New Zealand Disability Strategy. The C&C DHB Disability Support Advisory Committee (DSAC) invited community members to attend a forum to provide guidance on the future direction of Promoting Participation – Kotahi Tātou.
Our Involvement:
Litmus worked closely with C&C DHB to facilitate the forum and ensure an inclusive process was used to enable the diversity of voices to be heard. We:
- designed the forum agenda, which used storytelling and future-focused techniques
- synthesised and reported on feedback from participants
- gained approval from participants to share their stories
- identified key recommendations.
Key Outcomes:
The feedback and recommendations from the forum are informing C&C DHB’s future direction for Promoting Participation - Kotahi Tātou.
Pure Business Project Forum
Client:
Department of Labour (DOL)
Project Background:
As part of its role assisting small businesses in New Zealand, DOL decided to hold a one-day forum to launch the Pure Business Project. This Project was funded by the Ministry for Research, Science and Technology, and aimed to develop new and sustainable regulatory systems that help small businesses thrive.
Our Involvement:
Litmus:
- scoped, planned and chaired the forum, which was attended by 88 senior government officials, Members of Parliament, small business managers and small business organisations
- reported on key outtakes of the event and disseminated these to further enhance the Project's profile.
Key Outcomes:
The Pure Business Project was introduced to a larger audience, engagement and debate were fostered, and the project team obtained further ideas and data to shape the Project’s future direction. The Project has since progressed successfully, with business transformation projects.
Think Safe: Talk Straight Forum
Client:
Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC)
Project Background:
As the crown entity responsible for making New Zealand homes and workplaces safer, the ACC has working relationships with a wide range of service providers and interest groups involved in the arena of injury prevention. To strengthen this culture of partnership and to advance injury prevention activity in New Zealand, ACC convened the inaugural 'Think Safe, Talk Straight' forum in Wellington in 2005.
Our Involvement:
Litmus worked closely with the ACC to organise the inaugural Forum.
- providing event management support and advice
- setting agendas and facilitating breakout discussions
- preparing a Process and Outcomes Report upon the forum’s completion.
Key Outcomes:
Open dialogue was fostered between ACC and its stakeholders, building towards more effective long-term relationships.
New Zealand Drug Driving Symposium
Client:
New Zealand Police/Accident Compensation Corporation
Project Background:
The Police, together with ACC, wished to create greater awareness and understanding of the implications of driving under the influence of drugs, and to offer an opportunity to explore future responses.
Our Involvement:
Litmus organised the Symposium.
- designing symposium agenda
- chairing symposium and facilitating breakout sessions
- preparing report summarising key learnings and outputs
- handling all venue details, RSVP management and other logistics.
Key Outcomes:
Dialogue and debate was fostered between over thirty organisations with an interest in drugs and/or road safety.
